By using Lusztig's a-function we will give an algorithm to compute the Gelfand-Kirillov dimensions of highest weight modules of classical type Lie algebras (we will focus on type D). Then, we will give a characterization for the AV of highest weight Harish-Chandra modules of noncompact Lie gorups of Hermitian type. This talk is based on some joint work with Xun Xie.
